About this Role

The Biomedical Project Assistant is responsible for deployment of new medical equipment and maintenance of existing medical equipment during maintenance periods and designated projects. These tasks relate to medical equipment used in the hospital including, but not limited to, radiology, pharmacy, operating rooms, clean core, intensive care units, simulation training rooms, pre- and post-operative rooms, wards, nursing stations and sterilization decontamination rooms.

Basic understanding of equipment use, knowledge of physiology or clinical application is required. 

What You Will Contribute

 To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

• Document all activity in the AIMS Biomedical Software (Phoenix Data Systems) Computerized Maintenance Management System 

• Solve practical problems and deal with situations where only limited standardization exists; interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schematic form

• Ability to adapt skills in challenging work settings

• Use of hand tools and biomedical test equipment (Fluke – safety analyzer, patient simulator, oscilloscope, etc.)

• Work with and assist other technical staff to ensure consistency in operations

• 50-hour work week expected

• Minimum 2 years of experience with medical equipment deployment, maintenance and basic operation is preferred

• Biomedical, clinical or electronic technical training may qualify

• Recently certified biomedical technicians may be considered
